Sandra Kelberlau

Sandra became an art conservator because she loves science and art, and wished to spend her life doing something that incorporated both.

In 2005, she graduated from Buffalo State College with a Master’s Degree in Art Conservation. During her time in school, she traveled to Vienna, Austria, to intern in the beautiful paintings conservation studio of the Kunsthistorisches Museum. She spent the summer of 2004 at the Bergen Art Museum in Bergen, Norway, and upon graduation she became the Advanced Level Intern in Paintings Conservation at Harvard University Art Museums.

In 2006, she took a position as Assistant Paintings Conservator at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, where she had the pleasure of working on American and European paintings from the permanent collection. In 2013, she moved to Raleigh, NC, where she raises a family. She has now opened her own paintings conservation studio and is enjoying conserving and restoring paintings from the public.
